Hair: A Social Significance

Hair is men's pride and women's embellishment. If the man in the mirror is not you but a reflection of ageing youth and the amount of hair in your comb is heart-rending, then the problem of hair loss is certainly creeping up on you. Even the slightest thought of losing hair can be nightmarish and hair-raising.

Appearance does matter for an individual in this image-orientated society. Hair is the first thing we notice when we come across a person. Hair signifies youth, virility, strength, and beauty whereas loss of hair imparts a negative impact. Hair disorder or severe hair loss affects the lives psychologically of those afflicted.

Hair loss or baldness in individuals educes feeling of negative self-actualization, torn self-image, and loss of self-identity too. Anxiety runs deep into a bald man's emotional asylum. The symptom starts with long hours at mirror, gnawing fear of feeling older than the real age, self-consciousness in front of good-looking men, and other complex emotional and psychological problems.

Lustrous and healthy hair is the most prized possession a person can have but loss of hair or baldness can easily mess up the look and spoil the appearance. Therefore, any sign of hair loss or baldness needs immediate medical attention and one should not ignore this. A receding hairline may be the harbinger to the complete loss of hair or baldness in near future.
